That’s a wrap on 2024 robotics conferences and events! This year, our team had the opportunity to attend amazing conferences, connect with customers and developers, and showcase our powerful autonomous mobile solutions. Continue reading for our takeaways on each of these experiences.
Rockwell Automation Fair
We were thrilled to be part of Rockwell Automation’s Automation Fair in Anaheim, California! During Cyril Perducat’s inspiring opening keynote, “Automation to Autonomous 2.0”, our very own Matt Rendall — joined by the star of the show, Husky Observer — took the stage to highlight how Clearpath Robotics and OTTO by Rockwell Automation are shaping the future of autonomous robotics. It was a fantastic experience connecting with so many customers and partners in the Industry Pavilion.
ROSCon
Our team led a full-day sold-out workshop on “Demystifying ROS 2 Networking” at ROSCon in Odense, Denmark! It was great to see a mix of beginner to expert level attendees, where even some of the experienced users learned something new. Our team had great conversations at our booth with many ROS enthusiasts from all over the world. We also had the opportunity to learn about the cool projects fellow roboticists and companies are working on.
Robobusiness
The small but mighty Jackal hung out with some larger robot friends with Formant for Robobusiness in California. Jackal did the rounds, navigating around the conference floor, which definitely got some attention from attendees.
Rockwell Manufacturing Day
At Rockwell Automation’s Manufacturing Day, we had the pleasure of leading high school and middle school students in an interactive activity. Students used gestures to drive TurtleBot 4s, navigating maps, and simulating a manufacturing facility where robots transfer materials between work cells. Together, we’re inspiring the next generation of innovators!
MinExpo
We had the opportunity to participate with Rockwell Automation in the biggest mining conference around, MINExpo International, in Las Vegas! Lots of great discussions were had about how robotics can be deployed in the mining industry, especially our Husky Observer. It was incredible to see companies from around the world excited to see how a robot could remove humans from dangerous situations.
GCXPO
We participated in the GCXPO at Area X.O, supported by the Government of Canada. Thank you to everyone who came to chat with us and learn about Husky Observer, our autonomous outdoor inspection platform. It was great to have the opportunity to meet with various government officials and reconnect with some of our academic clients.
ROS Meet-up Ontario
We had the honour of hosting the inaugural ROS Meet-up Ontario with more than 80 people in attendance. Robots were tested, connections were made, knowledge was shared, and many pizzas were eaten.
Robot Rodeo
Husky Observer collaborated with Boston Dynamics’ Spot in Indiana as U.S. bomb squad groups faced a series of challenges inspired by real-world scenarios. Over the course of a week, teams used the Husky Observer to tackle complex tasks, putting its autonomy software and capabilities to the test in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. The event also offered Clearpath a valuable opportunity to gain insight into this application while demonstrating the platform’s capabilities and potential for mission-critical scenarios.
Robotics and AI Symposium
The Clearpath Robotics team participated in the annual Robotics and AI Symposium at Queen’s University! This was an invaluable opportunity to engage in stimulating debates, discussions, and presentations on groundbreaking research and innovative advancements in robotics and automation. It was great to witness engaging discussions and thought-provoking questions about today’s complex landscape of industrial, societal, and technological challenges.
Energy Drone and Robotics Summit
We were thrilled to participate in the Energy Drone and Robotics Summit in Houston, Texas, where we showcased our rugged and autonomous inspection system, Husky Observer. It was great to talk with those who stopped by our booth and learned how our platforms are helping ensure safety, efficiency and accuracy in the energy sector.
ICRA
ICRA was a busy show and a great opportunity to connect with the research community in Yokohama, Japan. It was amazing to see the novel research by the community and see awesome new research hardware showcased by suppliers.
CIM Connect
CIM Connect in Vancouver provided a good opportunity to connect with mine operators and technology groups in the mining industry. We heard about the challenges they are facing and demonstrated how the Husky Observer can help to collect more data in a safer manner.
Robotics Summit and Expo
It was great to exhibit at Robotics Summit in Boston among the other cutting-edge robotic technologies and discuss the advancements and challenges with the commercialization of robotics systems. We connected with many long-time clients, various businesses, and startups, and had great discussions around how Clearpath can bring their proof of concepts to life faster.
Sprint Robotics Roadshow
The SPRINT Robotics Canada Roadshow in Alberta was a fantastic journey with insightful showcases and valuable discussions! It was great to chat with attendees and have them witness firsthand the capabilities of Husky Observer, our inspection solution.
RoboHub
The annual Robotics Symposium at University of Waterloo (RoboHub) allowed us to connect with academic and industry leaders in Canada, exchange ideas, and deepen our understanding of the transformative impact robotics have across various sectors in the years to come.
European Robotics Forum
The European Robotics Forum in Italy provided us with a fantastic opportunity to engage with our European robotics client base, fostering valuable collaborations and discussions. We were able to explore current trends and emerging innovations, while also gaining insight into the future direction of robotics.
Thank you to everyone who supported, participated in, and visited us at these amazing conferences and events. We are excited for what’s ahead as we continue to boldly go where no robot has gone before in 2025.
