Here at Clearpath, we are always happy when we get the chance to connect directly with our tech community in Kitchener-Waterloo. Therefore, having local YouTube creator James Hobson, also known as Hacksmith, visit our Waterloo office to check out our robots and have a bit of fun with them was a great experience. On his YouTube channel, the Hacksmith, Hobson chooses various projects from pop culture such as comic books, video games or movies and attempts to recreate them in real life. Some of his highlights include recreating Captain America’s shield and a Star Wars lightsaber!

As fans of his channel, we were thrilled to have Hobson and his team swing by the office to try out several of Husky UGV’s features before taking it home with them. In his video, he test drives some of our robots like the Warthog UGV and Jackal UGV, adds us to his sponsor board and even surfs Husky!

But what does he actually want to use Husky for? He’s looking for a helping hand for his projects and hopes that with a mounted arm, Husky will be the perfect workshop assistant. However, we don’t want to spoil the whole video for you so you can watch the full story below:

Please note: Husky was not designed to be surfed. Clearpath Robotics does not condone the riding of robots without proper protective gear.

We are extremely excited to see how Hobson and Hacksmith will apply Husky to their projects and use it in the future. It is awesome to see local talent come together.

No robots were harmed in the making of this video.
