We’re on the road again, and this time we’re heading to Germany – land of Oktoberfest, birthplace of Heinrich Hertz, primary fanbase for ‘The Hoff’ and, more importantly, this year’s meeting place for ICRA and ROScon.
We’ll start our visit at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), which will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, May 6-10, 2013. We’re even more excited to attend than normal because we are a Silver Sponsor for this year’s event. ICRA consists of two days of workshops and three days of technical presentations alongside plenary talks, exhibitions, tours and social events. This year’s theme is “Anthropomatics – Technologies for Humans,” highlighting the role of Robotics and Automation in improving human quality of life.
Immediately following ICRA, we’ll head over to ROScon, which will be held at the University of Stuttgard, Germany. ROScon is near and dear to our heart as Clearpath Robotics is a founding sponsor. ROScon is a two-day developer’s conference that includes technical talks, new tools, and tutorials useful to the open source ROS community. We design unmanned robotic platforms with open source software; in fact, our platforms have supported ROS from the start, and we’re a founding sponsor of ROScon. We love open source! So we’re excited to share our latest programming tips and learn what other ROS leaders have been up to.
At both events, Clearpath Robotics will show off our coolest unmanned vehicles, along with our newest robotic research equipment. For a sneak peek of things you’ll find in the Clearpath Robotics booth, check out Husky, Kingfisher, and TurtleBot. Of course, that’s not all we’re bringing along, but where’s the fun if we give away all the surprises? There will be much more to check out at our booth – so stop by!
