Visual Teach and Repeat Package

REPEATABLE PATH FOLLOWING KIT

The Visual Teach and Repeat (VT&R) Package is a vision-based outdoor navigation package designed for research and application development. The kit enables a robot to be taught an outdoor path, and then reliably and accurately repeat that path in environments using only a stereo camera. VT&R is capable of navigating GPS-denied environments and can handle a degree of changing lighting or weather conditions.

Kit Includes:

  • Bumblebee XB3 stereo camera kit
  • High Powered, GPU enabled Computer
  • Visual Teach and Repeat Software Licence
  • Rear facing stereo camera upgrade available

Features

VIRTUAL RAIL

With the VT&R package, the robot can be taught to travel from any point a to point b along its pre-taught path, allowing for an infrastructure free, virtual rail system of connected waypoints.

VISION BASED SENSING

The VT&R Technology relies on visual odometry only, allowing it to function in GPS denied environments unlike many existing autonomy solution. The vision-only system enables implementation of repeatable outdoor path following or convoying that is both efficient and cost effective.

NEVER STOP LEARNING

Visual-only based navigation allows repeatable path following. Frequent traversing of routes accommodates learning changes in the landscape including weather, daylight, and more.

Supported Robots

The Visual Teach and Repeat Package is currently supported on the following mobile robotic platforms.

Husky

Unmanned Ground Vehicle

Warthog
